Pico staff switch to ‘dark mode’ for Earth Hour 2024

Pico staff around the world are gearing up to join millions of others to show concern for the environment during Earth Hour 2024. With 2,300 employees across 36 cities, Pico will switch off all non-essential lights and electrical equipment from 8:30-9.30pm (local time) on 23 March to demonstrate the need to reduce energy usage and protect eco-systems.

Staff members are encouraged to use their time in the dark to ‘Give an Hour for Earth’, dedicating 60 minutes to learn about the environment, make improvements, reconnect with nature, and/or inspire others. Pico staff will also promote the #BiggestHourForEarth campaign on social media and send special e-cards to clients and friends to engage others in the cause.

Earth Hour was initiated by the World Wildlife Fund in 2007 to raise awareness about the planet’s future and the threats of climate change and biodiversity loss. Millions of people and countless organisations from over 190 countries participate in the event every year.

Pico’s decade-long support for Earth Hour under their Global Care in Action initiative emphasises the responsible use of resources and sustainable business practices. Earth Hour serves as an annual reminder for staff to use resources responsibly and contribute to environmentally friendly business growth.
