As this three-day showcase of Baidu’s technology showed, autonomous vehicles are no longer the stuff of dreams, but are on the verge of driving into our everyday lives. Hosted at the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City in Guangzhou in February 2021, Pico was appointed to activate the event with design and build, on-site set-up and operations services.
Amid lush, flower-trimmed streets, visitors were introduced to a ‘Robobus’, ‘Robotaxi’ and ‘Minibus’ which would demonstrate some of the surprising abilities autonomous technology has in store.
Using Baidu’s Apollo Go app, attendees could arrange for a thrilling ride in the Robobus and Robotaxi.
Between their autonomous vehicle experiences, visitors could use the app to engage in a range of interactive games, learn more about MaaS (‘Mobility as a Service’) and earn gifts. The app also enabled users to become Baidu MaaS online community members.
